This sweet little baby is My Grand daughter Grace Marilla Shelley , She was born on November 29th and weighed a tiny 4 pounds 7 ounces. This photo was taken on the day she was born . She is a beautiful alert little girl . Her proud parents are my son David and his wife Christine . We are all so happy to have this sweet baby girl in our lives :)

American Indian crochet bears


These two little ones are about 3 1/2 inches tall they are five way jointed and made with crochet thread and seed beads . They are made ( as are all my bears) strictly from my imagination without use of a pattern

Alpaca


I needle felted this shorn Alpaca after coming back from our Colorado Vacation , I saw them there and fell in love , They are beautiful animals. I names this one Alan

Where have I been for two months!

I can hardly believe it has been almost two months since I have been active on my blog , There are just not enough hours in the day . as My friend Lita says " If we could just felt some extra hours .
So much has happened since I was last here . I had a lovely two weeks with my Sister Assumpta who came for some 'sister time ' from Ireland , We had such a lovely time together , which I will treasure for the rest of my life
Bernie and I went to Colorado for the most amazing Vacation in September . Another time to treasure . But the biggest news is mY son David and his was Christine will be adding a new baby to their family in Dcember . Its a girl! As you can imagine I have been baby shopping and crocheting for my first Grandchild .

Liam Crocheted bear


I finished this crocheted wee bear yesterday, I named him Liam.
I am now working on a needle felted Orange Monkey I really hope it turns out well. Keeping my fingers crossed :)

Peaches Angel Bear

This little bear is crocheted . Her name is Peaches . Peaches is 3 3/4 inches sitting and approx. 4 3/4 inches in length. She has glass eyes . She loves her wings. I made these wings for the first time and I hope to improve on them , I used glue , wire fantasy film ,glitter and gallery glass to make them

Cleo the Bassett Hound


Hello Everybody , My Husband Bernie named this little one Cleo. Cleo thinks She is a bassett hound? She is a tiny 2 inches tall and 2 3/4 long. Her rug is also felted using a combination of needle and wet felting

This wee cub is names Benjamin or Lil Ben . He looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth . Benjamin is both crocheted and needle felted

Assumpt and Mary


I have not blogged for several weeks , My sister Assumpta ( on the left) came from Ireland on avisit . We had a wonderful time . It meant so much to me to have a visit alone with her . We were able to do all tha 'sister' things when she was here , We laughed a lot , shopped a lot and even cried a little , but it was all good :) It was a visit I will always treasure . It has been 37 years since I have had that alone time with her and I hope one day to be able to do it again.

Victoria , A Crochet Bear

I finished this wee bear an hour ago . Hope you like her !
Victoria is a thread crochet bear , She is 4 1/4 inches sitting and 5 3/4 inches standing , She is a very pretty Champagne colour and has a crocheted cotton collar adorned with a ribbon and heart shaped charm with ' hand made with love 'on it . Victoria loves her hat to which I have added silk roses , ribbon , 'pearl' beads and a tiny butterfly. She is five way jointed and can be easily posed

Reilley the Cat

Reilley loves to sit in the window and watch the birds. She is an indoor cat so this is as close as she gets .

Arctic Fox


This is my latest needle felted creation. Archie, the Arctic Baby Fox Archie is approx.3 3/4inches to the top of his ears and 6 3/4 inches from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail,
He is 100% needle felted including his eyes . I used Marino for his coat.

This is the third of my military bears . I used Green crochet threa dfor his 'uniform ' I painted some food colouring on to the thread to make it camoflage .

WHAT IS NEEDLE FELTING?

Needle felting is the process of interlocking wool fibres by stabbing it with a barbed needle. The barbs catch the scales on the fibre and cause them to tangle and bind together. To create a 3D sculpture it can take hours of work and literally thousands of stabs from start to finish

Brownie , Needle feltted bear


This little bear is named brownie , You ca see how tiny he is when comparedd to a regular spool of thread . He is a baby bear and just like any baby , he is curious . see how his tongue sticks out , he is about to lick the thread to see if it tastes good . Brownie is very firmly needle felted

I decided to make miniatures of the armed services and these are my first two. They are no more than three inches tall and are completly crocheted with crochet cotton, They are five way jointed so can be posed . Their eyes are onyx beads .
